Swine Flu


Swine Flu Alert 
The information listed below is in response to the recent outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and some parts of the United States. 
1.    What is the Swine Flu?
       The swine flu is a variation of the Influenza A virus.  Several different strains of swine influenza have been identified.  The current strain is H1N1. 
2.    Can Swine flu be transmitted between humans?
        Yes.  The this particular strain can be transmitted between humans in a manner similar to other seasonal flu including coughing, sneezing and cross contamination after coming in contact with contaminated surfaces.

       The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends:
        -cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing and coughing. 
               Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
        -avoid contact with people who are infected
        -wash hands frequently
        -avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
