3 Reasons to Clean Air Conditioner Units with Coil Cleaner

Spring is in the air! Are you itching to clean?

Along with warmer air and the green sprouts of spring comes a ritual scrubbing, purging and cleaning ceremony for many homeowners and businesses alike. Of course, the first thing everyone does is run out to do air conditioner coil cleaning.  Right?

Well, perhaps it isn’t the first thing most of us think of, but if you consider the many benefits of cleaning your air conditioning unit, it should definitely be added to the list.

To get the best performance from air conditioner units, be sure to clean them at least once a year in the spring before the heat of the summer months. Units of all sizes, from residential to industrial, will benefit from cleaning with a good quality coil and fin descaler/cleaner like Air Conditioning Coil Cleaner.

1. Cleaning AC units reduces electricity bills.

Air conditioner condenser coils take hot air from inside a building and disperse it into the air outside. When condenser coils are dirty, dusty, oxidized, or blocked with debris, the unit works harder and uses more energy to achieve the same degree of cooling, costing potentially hundreds or even thousands of extra dollars in electricity to your business each year.

A product like Air Conditioning Coil Cleaner removes counterproductive dirt and oxidation on air conditioning coils.  When fins and coils are clean, air circulates more fully and AC systems operate and cool more efficiently, reducing the unit’s power consumption.

2. Save on maintenance & repairs.

Fewer unit repairs mean fewer dollars spent out of pocket as well as less hassle and personnel time for businesses to make the repairs. Since time is money, this is a double “save.”

Cleaning of air conditioning units is easy with a spray-on product like Coil Cleaner. Depending on your unit configuration, the cover may need to be removed. Beyond that, there’s no need for unit disassembly as Coil Cleaner can generally reach and clean fins and coils from outside spraying.  It’s a 5 to 10 minute total job for a small unit. Allow a little extra time for larger units.

3. Units last longer and need to be replaced less often.

When air conditioner units don’t have to work as hard they last longer, deferring new unit replacement expenses and saving a lot of money in the long run.  In the words of Ben Franklin, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”  While it may seem obvious that regular, preventative maintenance will keep equipment lasting longer, it may not be so obvious that that simple cleaning is a form of maintenance which extends the life of AC units.

Make the time and effort to include air conditioning unit cleaning in spring cleaning this year, and every year hereafter.  When you do, your business will be rewarded with savings on electricity bills plus more money to your bottom line in the form of fewer repairs and unit replacements.
